Abstract
999,929. Closure devices for bags. P. X. M. ROCCHISANI. April 8, 1963 [April 9, 1962], No. 13807/63. Heading E2A. A device for closing the neck of a flexible container comprises a flexible body having two elongate parts 1, 2 for extending along the opposite sides of the flattened neck of a container 5, and means for locking the ends of the body together after the body has been bent into an arcuate form in which the sides of the neck are held together by the parts 1, 2. In one example of the device, see Fig. 6, the two separate parts 1, 2 are held in the fastened position by stud and socket means 3, 4, but in an alternative arrangement, see Fig. 24, a pivotable former 23 is rotated to press the parts together. The flexible body may be formed as a single piece of material, see Fig. 8, which is folded along line x-x to form the two elongate parts, or alternatively the single piece may be slotted to hold the bag neck, see Fig. 13 (not shown). In the embodiment shown in Fig. 21 the bag is held between parts 2<SP>1</SP>a, 2<SP>1</SP>b and 1<SP>1</SP>. Various other arrangements are described including one in which the elongate parts are integral with the neck of the bag.
