A feeding bottle teat 1 of rubber or elastic plastics material includes end portion 3 of the teat which has at least two identical slits 4a, 4b which are disposed in a substantial 'T'- shaped configuration but do not intersect, the slits being closed when the teat is not in use. The slits may be straight or curved in plan view.
