Abstract

1,024,416. Sealing bag mouths. FR. HESSER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. April 17, 1964 [April 26, 1963], No. 15923/64. Heading B8K. A strip of heat and/or pressure-sensitive adhesive 3 is applied to the inside of the mouth of a bag 1, one wall of the bag being partially cut away at 4 so that the top closure may be formed by pressing together opposed walls. The bag mouth is then folded over so that the exposed part of the adhesive strip adheres to either the outside of the mouth or the bag itself. The sides of the bags may be folded in at 2 before sealing the bag mouth. The adhesive material may be applied in hot fluid condition or in the form of dispersions or solutions, the same adhesive being used if required for the remaining seams of the bag. In the case of a multiply bag the adhesive is only applied to the lining. The bottom of the bag may be similarly made.
