Abstract

977,997. Bag fastenings. PROBATEC. Sept. 26, 1961 [Sept. 28, 1960], No. 34473/61. Heading E2A. A closure device for bags and the like comprises a ring 1 of deformable material over a part of which, in use, the end of a bag or the like is folded and a plate 2 of deformable material provided with a longitudinal slot 4 formed with teeth through which the ring and folded portion of the bag are passed. The ring and the plate can be made by stamping from a length of plastics material, as illustrated in Fig. 5, the ring and the plate being left connected together by breakable pieces 8, 9 and adjacent devices being connected together by breakable pieces 10, 11. The ring can be stamped in such a way that before use parts of it are of sinuous shape so that a large ring can be obtained. A construction is also described in which the devices are stamped out in such a way that two plates are encircled by two concentric rings.
