Abstract

785,562. Discharge-collecting appliances. SORENSEN, E. June 28, 1955 [June 30, 1954], No. 18709/55. Class 81 (2). A disposable surgical bag for receiving matter discharged from an opening is retained on the wearer by an adhesive layer and consists of a flat container which is made of waterproof sheet material, is closed along all its edges and has a hole passing through the sheet material and the layer. A flat colostomy bag of rubber, guttapercha or plastic foil is provided with an opening 3 surrounded by an adhesive layer 4 by which the bag is secured to the body. A reinforcing ring may be interposed between the material of the bag and the adhesive layer 4. The adhesive disc punched out to form the opening 3 may be retained attached to one side of the opening 3 and used for repairing purposes if the bag is punctured.
