989,098. Corn pads. SCHOLL MFG. CO. Ltd., and L. C. LOWTH. Aug. 3, 1961 [Oct. 28, 1960], No. 37182/60. Heading A5R. A corn or bunion pad comprises a body part 1 with an outwardly directed extension 2 carrying an upstanding loop 3, and an arcuate piece 4 of resilient material secured by an edge to at least part 5 of the margin of the body part and upstanding therefrom. The body part consists of a layer 10 of synthetic plastic foam material e.g. polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane, superimposed on a thin layer 9 of polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane which may have apertures, the layers being heat-sealed together around their edges. The arcuate piece is made of synthetic plastic foam material and is secured by heatsealing to the edge of the body part. The loop 3, which is elastic woven ribbon, is secured by heat-sealing between the layers of the body part. Alternatively, the parts may be made of rubber and secured together by cement, epoxy resin glue or vulcanizing. Specification 871,504 is referred to.
