A surgical pad or plaster comprises a bottom layer carrying a pressure-sensitive adhesive and having an affliction-receiving opening and a cover layer secured over the bottom layer, the cover layer being made of fabric stretchable in all directions and/or having an incision or slit whereby the pad may be distorted from its original shape. The cover layer 7, which may have a nap on one side, may be made of two-way stretch fabric comprising threads which are of 'Helanca' (Trade Mark) yarn or which have a rubber core carrying a wound thread. Alternatively, the cover may be made of unstretchable fabric having a crossshaped slit in the portion covering the afflictionreceiving opening or made of fabric cut on the bias so that the threads are disposed diagonally to the longitudinal transverse axis of the pad. A body layer 5 made of the same material as the cover layer may be disposed between the cover layer and the bottom layer, which may be of unstretchable fabric.
