Abstract

A cleaning pad comprises a main body of synthetic or natural sponge having at least one surface covered by a sheet of another material, at least one of the edges of the sheet being enclosed within the main body. A sheet of chamois leather (6) Fig. 2, (not shown) secured by adhesive to the lower face of a sponge block and opposite edges of the sheet are secured by adhesive in slits in opposite side faces of the block. In another embodiment Fig. 4, (not shown) a sheet of chamois leather is wrapped around a sponge block and two opposite edges of the sheet are secured by adhesive in a single slit extending along one side of the block. Each embodiment may be modified by replacing the sponge block by two sponge blocks adhered together with the edges of the sheet interposed between the two blocks.
