A catamenial pad comprises superposed layers of absorbent material 11 and a moistureresistant layer 12 of synthetic resin, e.g. polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, cellulose acetate or viscose which covers one face 13 and the sides 14, the pad being enveloped in a gauze wrapper 17 which holds the moisture-resistant layer in position.
