[Class 94(i)] A package comprises superposed layers of material 1, 2 sealed together to provide one or more compartments 4 between them, a marginal portion 6 of one of said layers projecting beyond the margin of the other layer and carrying on its surface facing the other layer a coating of a sealing substance to seal the portion 6 to another object. The layers 1, 2 may be sealed by a coating of the sealing substance. A package may be made from a cover strip having a flap 12 foldable inwardly over the main part of the strip to the inner side of which the projecting marginal portion 6 is sealed at the free end as at 7, the other end 12 being removably insertable between the free end and the package for closing. A tear-line 10 may be provided. Two or more packages may be attached at the free end 7. In a modification the cover includes two connected sections 22 and 23. The free edge portion of the envelope is folded inwardly at 24 and the free edge of the section 23 is inserted into the fold 24 to hold the envelope 25 between said fold and the point of connection of the envelope at 19. The section 22 is inserted between the envelope 25 and the free marginal portion of the flap 19. The sheet material of the envelopes may be the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Cellophane," metal foil or sheet material with a thermoplastic or adhesive coating, which may be made to adhere by heat and pressure, or pressure alone.
