Abstract

823,348. Infusion packages ; paper and like bags. PNEUMATIC SCALE CORPORATION Ltd. July 22, 1957, No. 23126/57. Classes 94(1) and 94(2). A tea bag or the like is formed by laying a handle strip 16 having a tag 18 attached to one end, on a sheet of heat sealable filter paper, with the other end 26 sealed to the sheet and projecting beyond its edge, folding the sheet in half and sealing the side edges to form a bag, filling the bag and folding the end 26 within the mouth and then sealing the mouth to trap the end 26. The tag and handle are removably sealed to the bag at spots 20, 22, 24. The bag may be divided into two compartments by a longitudinal seal, thus giving a greater height of material in the bag and facilitating infusion.
