Abstract

1385286 Bags V M HANSQN 2 Aug 1973 [3 July 1973] 36841/73 Heading B8K A flat bottom bag of a plastics material, paper, cloth or combinations thereof has a bottom of double thickness and which is double sealed. The bag is tubular and has gussets 26 and is initially sealed at one end 28. Insertion of a plunger into the bag presses the base against a die plate so that triangular flaps 40 are formed on the inside of the lower ends of the sides 12, 14 to give the double thickness base. The second seal may be along lines 46 or at edges 38 of the base or adjacent the triangular folds 42 of the flaps 40. A combination of these different seals may be used as shown in Fig. 12. When made of a plastics material heat sealing may be employed, if of paper or fabric glue, adhesives, staples or sewing can be used.
