Abstract

1302662 Rolls of separable plastics film bags; dispensers for COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 15 July 1971 [5 Aug 1970] 33243/71 Headings B8C and B8K A dispensing container 12 accommodates a roll 24 of flexible bags 26 the roll comprising a flat tubular strip of plastics film material having a spaced series of heat seals 28 or 52 joining the two plies of the strip to define the bottoms of the bags and an adjacent transverse series of spaced lines of perforations 30 or 58 for separating the bags from the tubular strip the latter having at least one additional heat seal 40 or 60 adjacent a series of perforations 42 or 54 to define alongside, Figs 1, 2, or at the bottom, Fig. 4, a detachable tear strip 44, or 56 useful as a bag closure band. The tubular film may be extruded; comprises two plies of film heatsealed at 36, 38 to form the sides of the bag; or be formed from a folded strip of film having a heat seal 38 along one side. A tear strip may be reinforced by more than one heat seal such as 40, Fig. 1, and may be further reinforced by other materials such as string or, deformable metal. Alternatively, another ply of film material may be bonded to, or between, the two plies of the tear strip. The tear strip may be provided with one, or more, transverse perforations (46), (Fig. 3, not shown), be defined by sawtooth perforations (72) (Fig. 6, not shown), and be coloured to be distinguishable from the bags.
