Abstract

1362568 Plastics bags MOBIL OIL CORP 2 Aug 1971 [10 Aug 1970] 36148/71 Heading B8K A bag of plastics rendered stiff by embossing which is free standing when opened from a folded flat condition comprises stiff uncreased front and back walls 10, 20 joined at creases 11, 12, 21, 22 respectively to guide walls 40, 50 gusseted by vertical creases 45, 55 and to a stiff bottom panel 30 along creases 14, 24, the side walls being joined by a creased triangular recess 59 to the bottom with a crease parallel, when open, to a longitudinal crease 35 in the bottom parallel to creases 14, 24, the side walls having crease lines 47, 48, 57, 58 extending from the corners of the bottom panel at about 45 degrees to the side edges of the bottom panel and intersecting on the vertical crease line 45 or 55. The walls may be single or double ply and embossed in staggered rectangles or hexagons so as not to form horizontal lines of folding, the two plies being bonded together at the edges of the embossed shapes. The bag may be formed from tubing or sheet sealed at 70 and provided with vertical embossed lines 5.
