Abstract

1,220,873. Display packaging. BELTX CORP. 31 Jan., 1968 [1 Feb., 1967], No. 5087/68. Heading B8C. A display package has a rectangular base, sides and ends folding up from the edges of the base, a mouth flange extending outwardly and a lid flap extending from one of the flange panels. The lid flap can have a window of plastics sheeting in it and a hole for suspension of the package. The package is assembled from a blank, Fig. 1. The base 7 is pushed into a recess in an electrode 53, with consequential folding up of the sides and ends (Fig. 4), the flanges then being folded on to the top of the electrode. Pins 63, 65 locate the folded blank, the former passing through one of the suspension apertures 37, 39. An article A is inserted and the plastics web, 41, drawn over the flanges and mouth. An upper electrode 75 is then pivoted down to fold the lid flap on to the web, where pressure and high-frequency heating secure it in place.
