Abstract

1335729 Cartons WILLIAM THYNE Ltd 11 Oct 1972 [15 Dec 1971] 59359/71 Heading B8P A carton folding boxboard is formed from the blank shown in Fig. 1 and has a display opening formed by a slit 13 and opposing ledges 26 which support the contents which may be an Easter egg 27. Fold lines 12 enable the sides 10, 11 to slope inwardly towards the mid-height of the carton, whereas diagonal fold lines 20, 21, divide each front and rear wall into upper and lower sections. The carton is erected by securing flap 18 to opposite sides 10, 11 to form a tubular carton, lower flaps 16, 17 are closed and interlocked. Sides 10, 11 are bent inwardly at 12 and flaps 26 pressed inwardly to support the contents passed through the open top of the carton. The upper and lower front rear walls slope both outwardly and inwardly and have an apex 22, the flaps 14a being finally pushed inwardly and released to spring back and engage on the top of the contents 27. Closure flaps 17 are shaped to leave an aperture through which the contents can be seen.
