Abstract

1302940 Bags J R KENNERLEY 29 Dec 1971 [31 Dec 1970] 61964/70 Heading B8K [Also in Division B6] A bag or envelope is made from a folded blank or blanks of material which is flat on one side and has bubbles on the other side, the bubbled side constituting the internal wall surfaces of the bag or envelope. As shown, a sheet 11 of opaque polythene has spaced recesses 11a and a flat aheet 12 of opaque polythene is secured to the recessed sheet 11 to close the recesses 11a. An envelope or bag is formed from a blank (13, 14) cut from a sheet of such material which is pressed by hot rollers, blades or irons to crush the bubbles and weld the collapsed bubble film to the sheet 12 in regions defining the fold lines (13a-13d; 14a, 14b) and the edge regions to be overlapped (13e-13h; 14c-14f). The overlapped regions are secured together by adhesive, adhesive tape, welding, or stapling.
