Abstract

1,102,070. Containers formed from blanks. CONTINENTAL CAN CO. Inc. 5 May, 1965 [8 May, 1964], No. 18879/65. Heading B8D. Container bodies, e.g. for paper cups, are formed by coating or laminating a paper web 11 with a material 12 which may be plastics foam, the edges 13, 14 of the web 11 being left uncovered by the material 12. Pairs of blanks 15 are cut from the web, after which adhesive (21), Fig. 6 (not shown), is applied to the uncovered paper edge of each blank, and the blanks are formed to a tubular shape enabling a paper-to-paper bond to be made with the material 12 on the inside of the tube.
