Abstract

832,446. Cartons; packages. BRITISHAMERICAN TOBACCO CO. Ltd. Feb. 14, 1958 [Feb. 25, 1957; Jan. 7, 1958], No. 4854/58. Classes 18 and 94(1). A carton for cigarettes &c. is provided with a slidably mounted closure flap 34 adapted to open and close an aperture 13 in the top wall of the carton, the flap 34 being hinged at 35 to a flap 30 forming the upper part of the end wall 21. A thumb operated tab 32 is provided on the flap 30. Flaps 12 and 26 form upper and lower guides respectively for the closure flap 34. The side wall 11 is folded finally and the carton is held together by means of adhesive G on the bottom wall flaps 15 and 16. In a modification there is no lower guide flap 26, the cigarettes and their paper wrapper serving this purpose. Interior ribs to act as guide means for the closure flap may be formed at the top of the side walls by suitable fold lines.
