Abstract

615,490. Cartons. CLELAND, Ltd., W. W., and BUCHMAN, A. June 25, 1946, No. 19034. [Class 18] A cardboard or like carton of tubular form has a portion cut from the top and two opposite adjacent sides 3, 4 to leave an opening for the display of the contents, raised portions 5, the remainder of the top forming a support for another carton stacked on the first. Two cut out portions separated by a central section may be removed, the central section forming a further raised portion 5 in the plane of the other portions 5. The cut out portions may be left joined at their longitudinal edges to the sides 3, 4 and may be folded inwardly to lay against and reinforce the sides 3, 4 and bottom 2 of the carton. A flap 6 extending from the side 4 is secured to the bottom 2 and flaps 7, 8, 9 are folded in to close the ends, being held in position by the tuck-in extensions 10 of the flaps 8. The display openings may be closed by a transparent covering.
