[Class 18] A box has end f ram e s of double thickness formed by folding opposite marginal portions of a blank, the extremities of the end frames inter - engaging to constitute the body of the box and an extension of one side folding over a portion connecting the end frames. In one form Fig. 1, the blank has marginal portions 14 which fold under at a crease 29 on the two longitudinal sides of the blank and an extension 12 of one side 25 which folds round a portion 11 at the opposite end of the blank after folding at a slot 13 and creases 16, 23, 24. Tabs 31 engage in the marginal fold at each end of the portion 11 and the extension 12 is passed through the slot 13. Tabs 28 are engaged by end panels 17, cut out from the blank by slots 13, 15, 16, and folded down to the bottom of the box about creases 18. Flaps 19 of the end panels 17 engage in slots 21 cut in the bottom of the box. In other forms, the portion 11 may be an extension of the side 25 and the extension 12 may be adjacent the end panels 17, or the end panels 17 may be trapezoidal and the top of the box wider than the bottom. Alternatively, a box may be formed from two blanks, Figs. 12, 13, the margins 96 of the bottom blank and 106 of the top blank being folded over at creases 97 and 107 and engaged. Flaps 92 fold over portions 90 and tongues 100 engage in slots 93. The end panels 89 fold down as in the other constructions. A lid, Fig. 5, may comprise two halves, each having a flap 58 which engages the marginal folds of the box and flaps 60 folding over the sides of the box. Slots 64 may engage the tongues 100, Fig. 13, which are then folded over the outside of the box and secured by a label.
