Abstract
485,040. Boxes. EBURITE CORRUGATED CONTAINERS, Ltd., and CASTLE, J. March 24, 1937, No. 8680. [Class 18] An open-topped container which may be used for the transport of bottles is made from at least two separate, complementary blanks of, e.g., cardboard or corrugated paper, which are placed crosswise on each other and erected, the blanks having portions foldable to form the upright walls, the upright-wallforming portions 13 of one blank having foldable lateral side wings 18 and the upright-wall-forming portions 6 of the other blank having foldable end flaps 7 which interlock with the side wings. As shown two blanks A and B are used, the walls 13 and wings 18 also have end flaps 14, and side flaps 17 provided on B are folded over to reinforce the base. The flaps 17 may be replaced by similar flaps on A. Hand holes may be formed in the portions 6 and 18, or, as shown at 19, in the portions 13. In an alternative construction B is superposed on A. An insert 21 may be provided.
