Abstract

356,800. Cartons for powders &c. MACKAY, G. D., 3, Boswall Quadrant, Edinburgh. June 12, 1930, No. 18002. Addition to 334,433, [Class 18, Boxes &c.]. [Class 18.] The slide or shutter of a carton for powders &c. described in the parent Specification is attached by a finger-piece to a folded d apertured strip which is attached to one side of the box and beneath which the slide is adapted to move. As shown in Figure 1 the slide e is part of a strip h attached to one of the narrow sides c of the carton and is located between the upper and lower folds of the strip which has openings h<2> registering with the openings g in the closing flaps a, a<2>. The part k joining the slide to the upper fold of the strip h is scored to form the finger-piece ; finger recesses may be cut in the sides of the part k. The openings in the closing flaps may be arranged at the side opposite the side to which the strip is attached in which case the narrow flap has an opening to register with the openings in the closing flaps and is extended to rest on a flap formed on the glue lap of the carton. In another form the strip is integral with or directly attached to the lower of the two end closing flaps and so is indirectly attached to one of the broad sides of the carton.
