788,192. Cartons. WADDINGTON, Ltd., J., and BROCKLEHURST, J. June 20, 1956 [June 20, 1955], No. 17804/55. Class 18. In a tubular carton, the closure of which comprises folded extensions 11b ... 14b of the walls 11 ... 14 which are not slitted up to the transverse crease line 16, as described in Specification 473,897, the folded exterior of one wall lies over the folded extension of an adjacent wall and underlies that of another adjacent wall, a flap 24 of each extension is secured to an adjacent folded section and a flap 21 of one extension is secured to all the folded extensions at the centre of the closure. The extensions are creased at 17, 18, 19 and one extension 14b has the rectangular flaps 21 joined to it by a crease 22. One side of the blank is coated with a thermoplastic adhesive, and the extensions are twisted as in Specification 529,201, the parts 24 of the extensions forming flaps which present the adhesive coated surface towards the underlying adjacent surface so that when heat and pressure is applied the bottom closure shown in Fig. 3 is obtained.
