Abstract

661,754. Cartons or boxes. BROOKE, N., and BROOKE, BOND & CO., Ltd. June 14, 1949 [Jan. 19, 1949], No. 1471/49. Class 18. A collapsable carton having inner and outer end closure flaps e, o respectively, has gusset portions f, j that connect the flap e and the carton walls g, i, and are adapted to be folded inwardly beneath the inner flap, the outer flap o being provided with lugs p which, in the closed position, are adhesively secured to the outer side or face of the side walls g, i, so as to cover the edges of the gussets. The carton is made from a blank, Fig. 1, cut and scored to provide the carton walls, end flaps e, o, gusset portions f, lugs p and a marginal tab b, or from a modified blank, Fig. 5 (not shown), wherein the lugs p at one side of the wall panel n are, disposed at the edge of the blank and the marginal tab b is confined to the height of the walls. The upper corner of one of the gussets may be pasted over at r to cause it to adhere to the flap e and thereby assist folding.
