Abstract

288,429.. Leigh, T. H. March 28, 1927. Securing bags, special means for. - Envelopes, packages, &c. are provided with a closing flap which is adapted to be reversely folded at its lower edge and inserted beneath the lower edge of a pocket formed either by folding an extension a of the back of an envelope upon itself and securing its ends by inturned side flaps a<8>, or by securing a. separate strip or band adjacent to the open end of an envelope &c. A pocket may be provided upon a stiffened envelope formed by securing a paper front upon a piece of strawboard or the like forming the back, the side edges of the front being folded upon the back to fasten the sides of a paper strip which is secured inside the upper edge of the strawboard and extends over the top thereof to form the pocket. The reversely-folded closing flap is provided by an extension of the paper front, and an extension at the lower edge of the front forms the bottom sealing flap of the envelope.
