Abstract
1,036,718. Dispensing devices. AUSTIN PACKAGING Ltd. Dec. 24, 1962 [Dec. 29, 1961], No. 46612/61. Heading B8P. A dispensing device of cardboard comprises a rectangular compartment 14 for receiving articles having an aperture 26 therein, and a pull-out tab 12 forming an article-receiving tray into which articles fall via said aperture. The pull-out tab is connected to the compartment by tongues 52 fitting into slits in the folds between the back panel 14 and side panels 16, or by adhesive, or else is formed integral with an inner tray carried within the compartment and which may be divided into two sections by a longitudinal rib 138 (Fig. 8). The front of the compartment may be partially open with the side panels 16 carrying flanges 22 with slits 24 therein into which end closure flaps are folded, there being similar closure flaps 20 at the other end of the compartment. Alternatively the front panel 102 is cut out at 106 for viewing the articles therein, one end is closed by panels 110, and the aperture 126 is closable by flaps 128. A hole, by which the device may be suspended, may be provided in the top end closure. The rigidity of the container may be improved by providing a short sleeve or a film over-wrap for encircling the main body, the wrappings falling short of the pull-out tab.
