Abstract

965,695. Cartons. JOHN WADDINGTON Ltd. June 4, 1962 [May 3, 1961], No. 15960/61. Heading B8P. A self-erecting tubular carton is provided with flaps 8, 9 hinged to a pair of opposite panels 1, 3, respectively, and secured together to form a central stop which locates the contents, e.g. an electric light bulb, therein. The flaps 8, 9 are cut from the panels 1 and 2, 3, respectively. The carton blank may be cut and scored to provide small panels 11 which form further means for locating the contents when pushed inwards. In a modification (see Fig. 6), the flap 8 has a projection 12 which is secured to a similar projection 13 on the flap 9 thus providing space for indicating the nature of the contents. Further panels 14 may be pushed inwards to provide support. Alternatively a lid or outer wrapper may be provided.
