Classes 7(2) and 7(3) An air cooled pre-combustion chamber 13 is secured to the cylinder head by two bolts 15, 16, which lie one behind the other in the direction of the cooling air-flow, and the cooling fins 21 surrounding the chamber 13 also surrounds the parts 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, through which the bolts pass. The upper part of the chamber 13 is provided with a cylindrical socket 19, for the fuel injector 20, which is also provided with cooling fins. The thickened parts 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, of the chamber wall give the combustion chamber an approximately elliptical outline, the major axis of which extends in the direction of cooling air flow.
