814,870. Seats. PEITZ, T., and SICHEISCHMIDT, R., [trading as STANZWERK PEITZ & CO.]. Nov. 11, 1957 [April 29, 1957], No. 35064/57. Class 52(2) In a reclining chair having a back 6, a seat 7 and a leg rest 8 pivoted end to end at 9 and 10 and mounted in a supporting frame 1, the back is downwardly extended below pivot 9 and is hinged to frame 1 at a point 11 directly below the centre of gravity of an occupant, the front of the seat is guided by a pin 12 working in a slot 14 carried by the seat and a link 16 operates the leg rest and is pivoted to frame 1 at a point coaxial with pin 12. The leg rest may swing to lie horizontally beneath the seat when the parts are in the sitting position, and the parts can be urged to the sitting position by a tension spring acting between frame 1 and the downward extension of the back.
