Abstract
724,305. Seats. LORENZ, A.' March 16, 1953 [April 30, 1952], No. 7182/53. Class 52(2). A lounge chair comprises side supports 10, a sitting structure 18 composed of a seat 20 and leg rest 22 rigid with one another, a back rest 14 pivoted at 16 to the supports 10 and at 24 to the rear end of the seat 20, at each side a controlling link 32 pivoted at 36 to the leg rest 22 and at 34 to a controlling member 26. The member 26 at each side which may be a disc is pivoted at 28 to a rod 30 rigidly carried by the support 10, and a guiding link 38 is pivoted to the seat at 42 and to the control member 26 at 40. In a modification, the support may comprise two foldable and pivotal parts at each side and the control member is carried by a link pivotally carried by the support. Swinging, or adjustment between upright and reclined positions is determined by the movements or pressures brought to bear by the occupant of the chair.
