764,023. Adjustable chairs. LORENZ, A. Jan. 3, 1955 [Jan. 28, 1954], No. 121/55. Class 52 (2). In an adjustable reclining chair wherein the seat 24 and back 18 are pivotally mounted on a support 10 for co-ordinated movement a pair of dependent links 32, 44 and a rod 48, on which a leg rest 54 is slidably mounted, are pivoted in spaced relation on the seat, the links and leg rest being coupled by a link 56. Modifications of the linkage arrangement are described according to which the back is coupled to the rear dependent link by means of an arm-rest linkage or is linked to a bellcrank lever the limbs of which have rollers bearing on the rear dependent link and on the underside of the seat respectively.
