785,194. Chairs. GISPEN'S FABRIEK VOOR METAALBE-WERKING, N. V. April 10, 1956 [June 2, 1955], No. 10841/56. Classes 52(1) and 52(2) A tilting chair, with a seat pivotally mounted at or near its front edge on a base member, supporting arms 15, 16 pivoted to the base member on an axis parallel with the seat pivot and having rollers 15a, 16a contacting the seat supporting bars 11, 12, the arms being urged into a position to support the seat in normal substantially horizontal position by springs 17, 18 connected between the arms and the base member, has the rear ends of the springs connected to a nut 25 movable approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of arms 15, 16 on a threaded spindle 24 rotatably mounted on a strap 23 which rigidly interconnects arms 15, 16, the arrangement allowing adjustments of the initial tension of springs 17, 18 by rotation of a knob 24a in accordance with the weight of the person sitting on the chair.
