Abstract

602,538. Combined chairs and tables. AVERY, N. S. Oct. 16, 1945, No. 27085. [Class 52(iii)] A chair, or settee, convertible into a dining table, and combined with a foldable seat for use with the table, comprises a pair of side frames 1 pivotally attached at their lower forward ends to a supporting frame 6, the side frames 1 having spaced therebetween an upholstered seat 2 and a pivotally mounted upholstered back rest 3 arranged so that the latter is foldable over the seat 2. A table top 7 is attached to the side frame members and assumes a vertical position at the rear of the back rest 3 until required for use as a table when it may then be moved to the horizontal position by forwardly rotating the side frames about pivots 5. A foldable seat 8 is connected to the rear uprights of frame 6 and is supported in the position for use by means of links 10, 11, the latter being disposed in alignment with the supporting frame 6 when the seat is in the folded position. A back rest 14, for use with seat 8, is secured to the upper portions of frame 6.
