Abstract
813,776. Belt tensioning devices. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. April 11; 1957 [April 21, 1956], No. 11850/57. Class 80 (1). A belt or rope pulley 5, for automatically maintaining a belt or rope at correct tension for the torque transmitted, is arranged to swing around a parallel driving or driven shaft 1 having a gear-wheel 2 in mesh with an internal toothed rim 6 secured to the pulley. The pulley is rotatably supported on eccentric sheaves 9, 9 which are rotatable on the shaft 1. Concentric surfaces 4, 8 each side of the gear 2 and toothed rim 6 respectively roll against each other to relieve the bearing surfaces of the sheaves of load. The sheaves may be provided with a radial arm which is spring-loaded to rotate them giving a predetermined low tension to the belt.
