Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act] Countershaft gearing for driving two machines. -In belt tensioning means in which the tension varies automatically with the power transmitted, particularly applicable for driving two looms from an electric motor, a driving-shaft a carries at one or both ends a gear-wheel b engaging an internal wheel c formed externally as a belt pulley d and turning on a pivot pin e carried by a plate f freely rotatable concentric with the shaft a. Springs i -between the plates f and the framing supply initial tension to the belts g, which tension increases automatically with the power transmitted.
