Abstract

154,959. Williams, S. April 29, 1920. Endless-chain machines for moulding slag &c. into bricks &c. are combined with variable-speed driving-gearing of known type. A belt B moved transversely by a handoperated screw b<1> transmits power between conical drums A<1>, A mounted inversely on parallel shafts. The drum A<1> is driven by fast and loose pulleys a<1>, a<2>. The drum A is connected through gears a<3>, e, a shaft e<1>, and gears e<3>, e<4> to a shaft e<5> in bearings in the frame of the machine. The shaft e<5> carries two sprockets e<6>, which drive an endless conveyer carrying moulds, and three wheels e<7>, which operate as described in Specification 153,083. The gearing is within the conveyer at the delivery end of the machine.
