Abstract
725,466. Change-speed gear. NEUMUNSTERSCHE MASCHINEN-UND APPARATEBAU-GES. April 20, 1953 [April 28, 1952], No. 10799/53. Class 80 (2) [Also in Group IX] A driving device for two storey textile twisting machines comprises a vertical motor with two shaft ends, each of which drives a rotating pulley for a spindle belt of each storey through a set of gear wheels arranged in stepped formation. As shown, 1 denotes the motor the end shafts of which carry sets of gear wheels 2, 2'. Adjacent the gear wheels 2, 2' are arranged sets of co-acting gear wheels 4 4' each mounted on a shaft carrying upper and lower driving pulleys 3, 3' for driving endless belts which in turn drive the spindles of the machine. For changing speed a shaft 6 having a handwheel 7 is provided, the shaft 6 having at both ends a set of cams 8, 8'. These cams engage the forked ends of bifurcated levers 9 which move about pivots 10, 10<SP>1</SP> and carry at the other ends gear wheels 11', 12' so that rotation of shaft 6 causes corresponding upper and lower gear wheels 11<SP>1</SP> 12' to engage corresponding gears of the sets of gear wheels 2, 2' and 4, 4'.
