Abstract

Toothed gearing. - In eccentric epicyclic reduction gearing employing roller teeth, a driving-member 1, 4, 42 carries eccentrics 2, 3 carrying on roller bearings wheels 9, 10 with teeth curves formed as equidistants to continuous cycloids or trochoids and engaging rollers 13, 14 carried on pins 15, 16 secured in the cover 7 and stationary casing 17. The roller members differ by one from the tooth members, so producing a slow forward or reverse drive of the wheels 9, 1@ which is conveyed to the driven shaft 8 by pins 19 carrying rollers 21, 20 engaging circular holes 45 in the wheels, the holes and teeth being preferably equal in number. All the pins are slightly flexible to equalize the drive and may be supported by loose rings 18, 22, 23 or lug pins, not shown. The rollers 13, 14 may be carried on the same pin. In a modification, one wheel only is used. Balance weights 26, 27 for the wheels 9, 10 are provided. When the rollers are more numerous than the teeth, the teeth are preferably formed as equidistant to continuous prolate epitrochoids.
