Ps. 1754. sprocket-wheels 7, 8, attached to one another, are located in a slotted portion 2 of the chain stay 1 and freely mounted on a transverse shaft 4 adjustably and removably carried by the portion 2, an endless chain 13 extending between the smaller wheel 7 and the crank-axle chain-wheel 12 and' a second chain 15 extending between the larger wheel 8 and the small chain-wheel 14 on the road-wheel hub. Eccentrically mounted washers 10 on the shaft 4 bear upon pins 16 on the two side members of the portion 2. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 29513/96, 6280/97, and 14650/99.
