Beat-up motions; picking-motions.-A chain wheel H on the driving-shaft A drives an idle shaft B and the picking-shaft L by a chain J in engagement with chain wheels M, K. A second chain wheel N on the shaft B is connected by a chain P with a chain wheel 0 on the crankshaft Q. The wheels 0, N have the same number of teeth and one or both of them may be mounted eccentrically. The shaft L is driven at half the speed of the shafts B, Q. The sprocket wheel H is detachable and may be replaced by one of a different size for varying the speed of the loom.
