477,792. Toothed gearing. ANDER. SON, H. ST.-J. C., ANDERSON, W. H., and HOLTOM, M. E., [Representatives of ANDERSON, H. P. H.], and HENDERSON, A. Oct. 24, 1936, No. 28966. [Class 80 (i)] Relates to reduction gearing of the type in which an annulus 11 on the driven shaft 13 is driven by a gyrating gear 14 restrained against rotation on its own axis. According to the invention, the gear 14 is driven by two or more cranks or eccentrics 15, which are synchronously rotated on fixed axes. As shown, the driving- shaft 22 carries a crank 21 which through a link 20 drives cranks 18 on the axles 16 carrying the eccentric pins 15. A balance-weight for the crank 21 may be provided. To prevent the crank-pins 15 from rotating in opposite directions, they may be connected by a link. In a modification, the axles 16 carry gears meshing with a gear on the driving-shaft. Gears of different sizes may be substituted to vary the transmission ratio.
