434,481. Variable speed gearing. HOBBS, H. F., 58, Lillington Road, Leaming- ton Spa. Dec. 29, 1933, No. 36603. [Class 80 (ii)] Relates to automatically - variable gearing suitable for vehicles of a kind comprising eccentric planetary weights A carried by a driving-member K and geared to a driven shaft G which is prevented from rotating except in one desired direction. Each of the weights A is mounted directly and freely on a cylindrical bearing B which is disposed eccentrically in relation to the axle D, D<2>, of the associated planet pinion D<1>. The pinions D<1> mesh with a common gear E on the shaft G. Specification 358,732 shows an example of gearing of the said kind with a spring transmission additional. There is preferably such a spring transmission beyond the one-way shaft G. Specification 435,988 also is referred to.
