434,483. Variable - speed gearing. HOBBS, H. F., 58, Lillington Road, Leamington Spa. Dec. 29, 1933, No. 36605. [Class 80 (ii)] Relates to automatically - variable gearing suitable for vehicles of a kind comprising eccentric planetary weights C carried by a driving-member and geared to a driven shaft which is prevented from rotating except in one desired direction. The ratio between the driven sun-wheel A and the planet pinions B associated with the weights C is exactly 2: 1 and there is substantially no play between the interengaging teeth. Specification 358,732 shows an example of gearing of the said kind with a spring transmission additional which spring transmission is preferably incorporated with the invention. Specification 435,988 also is referred to.
