Abstract

803,276. Sliding bolts. DYKE & SON, Ltd., G. Feb. 28, 1957 [Feb. 29, 1956], No. 6282/56. Class 44 A padlock bolt comprises a back plate 5 having screw holes 16 therein for securing it to a door or the like, a bolt 9 slidably mounted on the back plate in guide members 8, 10 and cover members 14, 15 carried by the bolt which are adapted to be moved into alignment with and cover up the screw holes in the back plate when the bolt is moved to its locking position to prevent unauthorized removal of the bolt from the door or the like. The two cover members are in the form of cross pieces on the bolt and the member 15 has an upstanding projection 12 which acts as a finger piece for moving the bolt and which is provided with an aperture. The guide member 10 also has an aperture and the bow of the padlock can be passed through both apertures to secure the bolt in its locked position. The staple 17 which is engaged by the bolt in its locked position is provided with a cover 19 to prevent removal of its screws.
