Abstract

621,663. Striking plates. KORESKA, R. J. Feb. 26, 1947, No. 5558. [Class 44] In a striking plate the lock and latch bolt may be released from their respective openings 5 and 6 by displacing retaining members 3 and 4 surrounding the openings. The retaining members carry side flanges 14 pivoted to lugs 7 on the striking plate proper 1 and are spring-urged to the locking position of Fig. IV. A sliding button 24 carries an abutment 22 engaging a lug 19 on the member 4 whereby when the button is pressed the locking bolt is released from the striking plate. The button may have an abutment to displace the member 3 at the same time or it may be adapted for rotation through 180 degrees to engage either of the lugs 18 or 19.
