585,307. Lock and latch cases. BRYAN, S. P. Feb. 19, 1945, No. 4083. [Class 44] In a lock or latch case, the fore end plate D is of channel form having grooves d along the inner faces which engage flanges a, c on the back plate and top plate, so securing these plates together. The fore end plate may be slid into position, the bolt B being pushed back for this purpose against the action of a spring until the bolt is opposite the aperture in the fore end plate, when the bolt springs out and secures the fore end plate in position. The fore end plate may be screwed to the edge of a door. The cam plate C may also be secured to the back plate A by tongues fitting in slots formed in the back plate. A latch bolt may be provided in addition to the bolt B.
