Abstract

594,693. Door-knob guards. LISTER, G. D. Aug. 14, 1945, No. 20890. [Class 44] In a guard to prevent unauthorized manipulation of the knob of a doorlatch, and comprising a trough - shaped plate a fitting over the latch casing h and around the knob c, to which plate a boxlike knob cover n is detachably secured, as described in Specification 435,274, the side of plate a remote from the latch-bolt (not shown) is closed by a plate l, which may be integral with plate a to prevent plate a being prised from the door by an inserted chisel or other tool. The cover n has a tongue s engageable in a slot t (or n) in plate a, the other side of the cover having a locking device v engageable in the other slot. An upstanding flanged plate member p may be secured over the attachment flange d at either side of member a, according to whether the device is applied to a right-hand or lefthand latch, member p having a slot r in which the tongue s may be engaged to support cover n when out of use, as in the Specification referred to.
