Abstract

925,930. Latch fastenings. EKCO PRODUCTS CO. May 13, 1960 [Jan. 11, 1960], No. 17072/60. Class 44. A latch for a metal cabinet 11 comprises a gravity controlled vertically slidable latch bar 16 mounted along the inner edge of the door 10 and having slots 15a which engage hooked lugs 15 on the body of the cabinet. The latch bar 16 is connected by a bracket 22 to, and actuated by, a slider 20 having finger grips 30 and contained in a handle 23, 24, 25 which closely surrounds it so as to afford no access for a jemmy. The cabinet may be locked by passing the shackle of a padlock through holes 35 in the handle and a coincident hole in the slider 20.
