Abstract

787,525. Cartons. STEVENSON & SONS, Ltd.,. H., and HILL, E. B. June 27, 1956 [July 7, 1955], No. 19729/55. Class 18. A carrier carton is formed from a blank 1 one end of which is cut at 5, 6, 7 to form flaps 8 from each of which there extends transversely inwards a handle flap 9, the blank being folded to form a box with the flaps 9 in juxtaposition and extending inwardly from the base transversely thereof, dividing the box into two compartments. The cuts 5, 6, 7 also define a side flap 10 slotted at 11 to provide two elongated flaps 12. At the other end the blank is slotted to form flaps 3, 4 and 14, and the blank is scored as indicated in dotted lines. The handle flaps 9 are first bent downwardly and outwardly to lie under the flaps 8b, the blank is bent up about score lines 16, the flaps 8 bent inwardly about score line 17 and again about score line 18, the parts 8b being thus brought together to form the partition wall enclosing the handle flaps 9. The end 8c of the flaps 8b forms part of the opposite side wall 3. Side flap 10 is then bent up to lie against the portions 8a and then downwardly about the crease line 22 to lie against the under surfaces of the portions 8a, the slot 11 accommodating the flaps 8b. The end flaps 12 are bent to extend across the bottom of the box and engage under the flaps 8c. Flaps 4, 14 are then bent up to enclose the flaps 3.
